How do you track Agile progress?

Most of the time when we work agile, we like to count story points as "progress". To me this does not make sense.

First of all, complexity, to me, does not reflect actual work hours. Furthermore, more senior people will require less time for complex tasks but for less complex tasks, it might be the same amount of work.

I always perceive it as a mix up and was wondering how you track progress?

Idea: AI that actually keeps projects in sync (tasks, chats, slides)

I’m a consultant and honestly… half the job is just keeping everything in sync across Teams, emails, Excel, and slides.

I’m exploring an idea:

An AI you can tag anywhere:

“@bot mark this item as done in Excel and add a summary from this chat”
“@bot check if this slide contradicts previous decisions”

It would:

  • capture decisions + action items from chats/emails
  • update trackers automatically
  • flag inconsistencies across tools
  • log everything it does (with undo)

Basically:
👉 project memory + operator + “AI consulting team”

Feels like current tools (e.g. Copilot) don’t connect execution + context.

Would you pay for something like this? What would need to be true for you to adopt it?

PM pain: decisions in chats, tasks in trackers, nothing stays in sync

Curious if others feel this:

  • decisions happen in Slack/Teams
  • tasks live in Jira/Excel
  • docs/slides drift away from reality

I’m exploring an idea:

AI you can tag anywhere:

“@bot mark this as done and add a summary from this thread”

It would:

  • extract decisions + action items from conversations
  • update trackers
  • keep everything aligned
  • flag inconsistencies across docs

Plus:

  • full audit trail + undo

Goal: Turn conversations into execution automatically

Would you trust something like this to update your tasks?

Idea: AI that actually keeps projects in sync (tasks, chats, slides)

I’m a consultant myself and honestly… managing tasks across Teams, emails, Excel, and slides is a pain in the ass, because everything is tracked across tools.

Things get out of sync constantly:

  • decisions in chats
  • outdated trackers
  • slides saying something different

Idea:
An AI you can tag or CC anywhere:

“@bot mark this as done in Excel and add a summary from this chat”
“@bot check if this slide contradicts previous decisions”

This will then update Jira tickets respectively, it will check presentations regarding updates, reminds people of doing their tasks, escalating it to managers, ...

Not just chat — actually doing work and keeping everything aligned.

Would you use/pay for this? What’s missing?
