So ive been playing bass for a while at school and ive noticed that i just cant get smooth fast playing no matter what ive tried and when I spoke to my gf who also plays bass i got told that its mostly about using all your fingers and showed me how that looks but my issue is that my dexterity in my pinky and ring finger is absolute shit and they cant separate enough to fo meaning full jumps from one note to another so how would one go about either circumventing that issue or improving dexterity and movement of the fingers and when ive tried to include them more the hand positioning feels uncomforteble and awkward and its preventing me from playing some of the more complex and faster pace songs that i want to learn and play
