Shared care for those on RTC
I am right at the point of starting titration with PUK. I’m hoping that will be in the next three or four weeks.
I’m a bit worried though as PUK have a page up that shows the NHS trusts that have paused ADHD and autism referrals. It looks like it’s practically all the big ones including my area.
Obviously I’m now diagnosed and almost through the process so not worried about that side of things for me (even though it really sucks for those coming up behind me) but I am a bit worried about shared care.
As my GP referred me and I’ve done the whole thing through RTC, could the pause on new referrals also mean that they might refuse my shared care? I’m looking at it from the perspective that they clearly can’t afford to manage the amount of people who want a diagnosis and support.
It feels like it would be really cruel to put me through two and a half years of this process and then get to the end and say I can’t have meds unless I pay for them but I’m worried that might happen.
Has anyone got any advice or experience on this?
