Job Search Overwhelm

I got laid off from a startup almost 4 months ago. Well, when I began with them, they were a startup. By the time I got neat year 4, they were much more established. Laid off due to restructuring. I have a LOT of skills transferable to Customer Success (onboarding, implementation, etc). I have been in tech enabled environments but would like to get into SaaS.

I haven't closed off myself to roles more aligned. However, I've had little to no traction. Two separate interviews that are still hanging in the air. I'm tailoring everything so I only do 1-2 apps per day. I don't understand the volume other people are claiming... That would have to be a bot or automated system like Swooped... Otherwise it's impossible.

I'm looking for tips for folks who have been successful getting jobs in SaaS... With minor pivot is a bonus. I'm kinda losing my mind at this point. Not to mention health problems and so much more related to being out of work. Appreciate any advice.

Pepsi Cake

When I was in Foods (home ec.) in the 90s, we had a recipe for Pepsi Cake. I see so many weird ones online. This was rural Illinois - so there has to be someone out there that knows what I mean. It's very identical to the taste of a Texas Sheet Cake... but Pepsi Cake.

Neutrogena Wipes & Eyelash Growth?

I started using Neutrogena fragrance -free makeup remover wipes (Target) in February. I have been noticing when I use them, my eyelashes seem to grow a bit the next morning. It's not subtle either. Has anyone else observed this?

I've been in this sub for awhile now - getting ideas, sharing what I've learned. We had a truly great contractor but I still have pro's and con's and learnings from the process.

Final Q for y'all - I need places for my damn towels! The hand towel bar had to go (it didn't mount properly so I'm currently shopping for one). The long wall is wallpaper so I didn't want towels touching it. I'm putting a black modern suction hook on the glass for a towel while we're in the shower... but I'm just not sure if I can get a bar anywhere else - or at least hooks. I prefer a bar but feel I may have effed myself w/ the wallpaper location (it is there forever now).

Still have to put up a couple art/decoration pieces... but would love to get feedback!

Things I'm glad I did

  1. Didn't go for bright white walls because I didn't want all of the competing whites. I picked a color that looked like I was NOT trying to intentionally match shades of white (Sherwin Williams - White Duck).

  2. The LED nightlights built into the plug-in. I don't like blinding myself in there in the middle of the night but I definitely cannot pss in the dark.

  3. Onyx shower panels (although I'd love to have a niche that was much longer... Onyx really should make this). They're shiplap and smooth white. So, if down the road, I decided to change the wallpaper or swap anything out, it will complement anything we do.

  4. Clean, modern but doesn't fight w/ the vintage/MCM feel in the rest of the house.

  5. Wood look floor instead of white hex tiles.

Design choices I made that I questioned after...

  1. Wallpaper being on the opposite wall behind the vanity. I wanted a feature wall which I clearly got. I was worried the design would be buried behind all of the things going on there. When I look in the mirror, it took awhile to get used to the reflection (my eyes went crazy) but have adjusted to it now.

  2. I wanted as big of a vanity as I could fit to maximize storage - I use a lot of products. This meant that the shower footprint stayed the same (pan size is 32x60"). I would sacrifice vanity space from a 42 inch to a 36 inch if I did it over. The toilet would also have to shift and then the shower pan becomes custom if not 36x60". So, I would only gain 4" of shower space... but our interior 28" width of shower seems narrow (haven't even used it yet). I feel like I could've found storage somehow to gain more shower room. This would've added $4k+

  3. We chose a floating floor/LVP? I'm not sure how it's classified. While I love the warmth it brings, I would've wanted a more permanent flooring but the cost would've easily been x4
