Question to the community / building ideas
Hey everyone,
I’m currently deployed, so hobby access and resupply aren’t exactly reliable. Because of that, instead of going all-in on a single army, I picked up a few very different infantry boxes so I can rotate projects depending on mood and keep the painting/building fresh.
Right now I’ve got:
- German Veterans
- Japanese Infantry
- Italian Infantry
- French Infantry
Part of the reason for the Germans was also the MGs and spare equipment bits, since I’m toying with the idea of doing Late War Italians with German influence/support later on.
I’m not really looking for beginner advice or “meta” netlists — I’ve been in the hobby a while. What I’m more interested in is:
What interesting or distinctive ways would you build each of these boxes so they all feel very different from one another?
I’d like each force to have its own personality/playstyle/theme, for example:
- elite vs mass infantry
- aggressive assault vs defensive line troops
- historically flavored oddities
- gimmicky but fun squad concepts
- unusual weapon distributions
- thematic veteran setups
- “this army feels different on the table”
Basically I want to avoid ending up with four armies that are all just regular rifle squads with an LMG.
