Hi all,

I recently moved back into my family home and live in the basement where there is carpet. I have a 4 & 1/2 year old mini Aussie who thinks the basement carpet is a bathroom.

No matter how on top of taking him out I am, he feels like he’s ok to go whenever he pleases.

When I was living on my own in a place with no carpet this was not an issue. I plan to eventually rip up all the carpet and make it hardwood. Any alternatives I can try in the meantime? If I lock him out of the basement, he sits there and cries and I don’t want to do that to him.
