Couch Princess

This is so stinking cute I had to share - the way my Lila was hugging the arm of the sofa (covered in a sheet because … cats) with her paw bent and tail curled, just rumbling away. I just have to marvel at her journey from a tiny, terrified kitten in a feral cat colony to beloved speckled house panther 💜 And yes, she’s as plushy and squishy as she looks ☺️

Orchid Cactus - Surprise!

I have had an orchid cactus, growing from a piece someone gave me years ago, and it grew new lobes but never did anything more exciting than look awkward and grow these fishbone-shaped “leaves”. I was so shocked to see tiny buds forming along the ridged edges last weekend and thought that was it. I went downstairs to my basement garden today and saw this! Who knew?! It took at least 5 years to flower but it was worth the wait (there are a dozen blooms)! Must be something in the air because the tradescantia next to it has popped flowers too. Fuzzy little things, too.
