hi guys,
i honestly feel very confused after my gre attempt and wanted to ask if anyone has been in a similar situation.
i have been preparing for around 4 months now and i feel like i have gone through a lot of material already. i completed manhattan prep 5 lb book twice (last 2 editions). i also finished all the magoosh questions and even reattempted the ones i got wrong. i also used their ai feature to generate similar questions for practice. apart from that i practiced some of the medium and hard sections from ets material as well.
my mock scores during preparation were-
302, 311, 315, 314, 328, 317
(these mock tests are the magoosh mock test scores)
i also took the timed free mock test on the ets website and scored 315 on that.
because of these scores i expected something around that range in the real test but on the actual exam day i ended up scoring 298 which honestly shocked me a lot.
i have been trying to analyze what happened but i genuinely cannot figure out where things went wrong. the only thing i know is that verbal is my weaker section especially long rc passages. quant is relatively more comfortable for me.
for the next month i bought the official gre guide and the official practice questions books. i am also planning to take a gregmat subscription.
but right now i just feel a little lost about how i should move forward. i thought my preparation strategy was working because of the mock scores but clearly something did not translate on test day.
has anyone else experienced such a big drop from mocks to the actual gre. what should i focus on in the next month especially for verbal and long rc. also how should i be using the ets material properly.
any advice or suggestions would really help because right now i honestly dont know what i how to move forward.
