No pain meds after spay? Is this standard? Ontario, Canada.

Hi, so not me, but my friend has been super worried about her cat since she had her spay on Thursday.

She wasn't acting herself, eating and drinking *enough*, but hasn't bounced back from what is a very standard surgery.

She took her in again today, because she has been worried about her.

She told me they discharged her with pain meds TODAY. 4 days after surgery.

Her kitty seems so much happier and "normal" with the meds on board.

Every spay I've ever had done had two days of pain meds sent home with us.

Just wondering if this is actually the standard of care and I had amazing vets.

Thanks in advance.

*** Kitty was given Metacam for the day of the surgery and was sent home with Metacam again today***
