You wanted a sandwich, but I wanted Thai food.

"Fine, what about pizza for dinner?"

We ate pizza,

but couldn’t even finish one together.  

You wanted to explore Vietnam, but I wanted to go to Japan.

"Fine, let’s go somewhere near this time."

We traveled,

but walked steps apart the whole trip.

You wanted to move in together, but I wanted the space.

"Fine, maybe we can try to meet more often?"

We spent more time together,

but mostly sat in silence.

You wanted to break up, and this time, I did too.

"Fine, we never wanted the same things."

We said goodbye.

And for the first time,

we agreed.
