My husband and I have been trying to hire subcontractors for his company for weeks now and there are no serious candidates. What are we doing wrong? Since it’s a subcontractor position it comes with no benefits but they pay well (I think?), starting at $30 an hour at the very very minimum. The position generally earns 60+k annually, with possibilities to earn more if you want to take on more work. It’s a blue collar job, but no degree is necessary. We are looking for people able to do outdoor work, have a car, who speak English, have a valid status in Canada, and are available Mon to Fri. The workday is 2-6h a day. We posted on FB groups and Craigslist. All we hear about is how hard it is to find any job yet we are struggling to find any decent candidates. Any advice? We built this company from zero and this is our first experience hiring. Are we doing something wrong? We are even open to someone just for the summer as it’s a peak season
