It's a black-tie gala, but fashion-forward and we're encouraged to get creative, so it's not really a strict thing. I'll be sewing roses into this velvet jacket. It's not anything fancy, just Armani Exchange because I like the fabric and I won't feel bad about permanently altering something at that price point.
I'm wondering about what trousers would pair with it and whether I should go with tuxedo trousers or a more standard dress trousers in wool. I'm also undecided on what color. I feel like black fades in the background more, allowing for more focus on the red roses, but the blacks also wouldn't be from a matching set.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! I'm fashion-forward and that's definitely encouraged here.
