I just got admitted to college in the summer, is this a career worth pursuing?

So i start online college to work twords my bfa in the summer. Honestly I know I'd be good at the job and I should make money to sustain myself. I'm yet another case of "artsy kid grows up and being a full time artist isn't feasible, so im pursuing graphic design" but im Honestly going to college for the toolkit it'll provide, not necessarily to become a graphic artist. I've plans and ambitions for my life that aren't graphic design, but what I learn in college should prove very useful.

I guess I want to hear some lived experience of the job, would it be worth it to pursue a job with a bfa or should I instead pursue my masters or web design? I know Ai is radically changing the field and many people are worried for their jobs, so I've been finding ways to incorporate Ai as a tool in my art process. Is graphic design a career worth pursuing when im out of college? And assuming I cant get a contract and instead work freelance, will freelance sustain myself financially?

Any and all comments are very appreciated ❤️
