So l've had a bit of a rocky road lately, my wife got pregnant then fired from her job, then it was just me working and something in my head finally clicked.
It's time to get into the trades, specifically hvac and I enrolled in school. Then I was let go from a previous job (not in a trade) so in panic mode I applied to a bunch of places. Now at this point | have no job, I'm in school and got a baby on the way. Sucks right, nope cause now's where I gotta put the work in. First semester I got a 94 now in this semester I got a 97 currently and I'm killing it, almost if not top of the class. Anyways I get a call last Thursday from an hvac company I applied to a while ago where all I pretty much said was "give me a chance I'm sure I won't let you down" to my surprise they did just that and scheduled an interview with me yesterday. We sat he did most of the talking but I was very attentive I even brought my notebook to take notes as needed. And at one point he says, "so what got you into wanting to do hvac?" I responded with "Well my wife is currently pregnant and I'm going to be a father very soon and I need to make sure that babies taken care of no matter what. When I was younger my father left and I'd do anything to do the opposite of him." He stood up at that point and shook my hand and said,
"you're a stand up man, and I need people like that on my team" we went over pay (which I talked about with one of my instructors is a bit higher than apprentices typically get) and now I start Wednesday morning 8 AM. I can't express how amazing it feels to have an actual direction in life now and not just be twiddling my thumbs waiting for a future that wasn't going to come if I didn't make it happen myself.
