After something was found on a mammogram, by Lennox Hill radiology, I had a further biopsy done at another one of their locations. I waited and waited. It seemed like forever, but was just a matter of four business days to find out if I had cancer or not. It's not cancer, but the cells are abnormal so I'm told by Lennox Hill that I need to arrange for a breast surgeon to cut this stuff out. They don't do this. They gave me a very difficult to read, many times photocopied, list of locations. These are just suggestions. I am just outside of New York City so I thought of what we all in this area know as the top place: Memorial Sloan Kettering. But at this point, I was basically told you have a problem, Good luck, go find yourself a breast surgeon. Here's the good news. Memorial Sloan Kettering know how to help you. I went to their site and filled in a very short questionnaire, and they are guiding me through this whole thing.

I can see where a lot of people would think the same thing that I did and that is that OK well, you probably are not going to die of cancer, but there's stuff that has to happen. Good luck! And go navigate the massive world of hospitals and surgery.

Please if you are in this situation, do not despair. Reach out to a trusted cancer hospital and they will help you. I think that there is a need, an empty place for women who have navigated this before that can help other women, I don't know such an organization, but maybe this is just the kind of thing that we need to do to help each other.

You're gonna be OK. I did ask my insurance company for what I'm covered for, and even though I have what is considered by far one of the best, if not the best insurance levels in the United States, I didn't have any kind of white glove service , so don't expect white glove Service. But you're gonna be fine. Deep breaths.

The doctor and the assistants at the Lennox Hill facility had never heard of this before. As the needle went into my right breast, and I could feel it hurt, although it wasn't as bad as it could've been because they gave me some sort of a numbing, I felt the same thing - the same identical but un-numbed sensation - as a stabbing feeling into my stomach the same amount of pressure, insertion speed, etc., as if it was simultaneously being pierced into a specific place in my belly.

Anybody else experiences or anybody else heard of this?
