Hello, dealing with a really frustrating situation and just want to get a sanity check. My wife and I bought our house in 2019, we both signed the loan as cosigners. She submitted a name change request 2 years ago that was never processed, until she followed up earlier this month because she noticed it was still incorrect in her dashboard. She submitted a follow up like "Hey, I submitted these documents, will you update my name please". The documents she submitted, and all subsequent conversations, had absolutely no information about me in them.
They changed *my* name on the account, so the account information has her incorrect name and her correct name as the to cosigners. When I call, they won't talk to me because my name isn't on the account anymore and I have to loop her in. We are waiting for them to call us back, but functionally removing me from my mortgage information feels like it should not be possible without documentation. Is this illegal, and if so, worth pursuing?
