Migrated from Webflow to Figma Sites in March. SEO tanking, is it the CMS or human error?

We migrated our CMS from Webflow to Figma Sites mid-March 2026. Since then things have been going downhill and I'm trying to figure out if it's fixable or if it's a fundamental Figma Sites issue.

Here's what I found in Search Console:

  • ~2,000 new 404s post-migration
  • Core Web Vitals dropped in April
  • 30 blog articles crawled but not indexed
  • PageSpeed Insights showing 39s LCP and 680ms TBT on blog pages

My theory is that Figma Sites relies heavily on client-side rendering which explains the LCP, the browser has to download and execute a huge JS bundle before displaying anything. Webflow was server-side so pages loaded instantly.

Questions:

  • Is this a known issue with Figma Sites or can it be optimized?
  • Is a 39s LCP fixable or is it architectural?
  • Anyone else migrated to Figma Sites and experienced this?

One more thing: I've been told by the team to focus on fixing missing alt tags and H1 issues as a priority. Could that realistically solve or significantly improve the crawling/indexing issues and CWV I described? Or is that just basic SEO hygiene that won't move the needle given the scale of the performance problems?

Thank you for any clarification you can provide!

Merci d'avance !
