We bought an older home with a detached garage. I think the whole door and system just needs to be replaced. The current door was a manual pull. While it was very heavy and hard for a short small girl to lift, I didn't mind it too much...until it just broke. The wheels came off the tracks on one side, the tracks are bent, something about the springs (according to my FIL). Doors are 16"x8".

When I called local companies they couldn't give a ballpark of what their typical clients spend without coming out for a quote. I like to budget for everything and I got frustrated because I don't know if I need to have $2k? $5k? $10k? 20k? I would have to blindly waste their time coming out for a quote and my time taking off work and maybe not have the money set aside.

I abandoned fixing it for half a year and now I'm back. In the meantime, we found a raccoon skeleton in the garage 😂😭

What budget range should I expect for:

- a builder's grade door, and new tracks. Nothing fancy.

- a higher quality option in preparation for future AC and refinishing of garage. Something nice looking, maybe mid range

Reddit, can you help me get an idea of how much I should budget for? And what general location are you basing that off of?

My current go-to pair is something I got from etsy 4 years ago. They were handmade, advertised as barefoot shoes, but they make me look like I have duck feet.

Can't complain much though. They are one of the only pairs I tolerate and they have held up for that long with almost daily use, which is impressive.

Other non-petite people always suggest kids shoes, which are really not comfortable and are made to be disposable.

A close relative is the same height and was blessed with 5 medium feet. I'm a little jealous. I'm a 4 wide US.

I'm planning my wedding it's been a struggle. I see all these cute shoes online and I just have to accept that they don't make them in my size.

I'm thankful Cinderella of Boston exists, but they always run out of my size! I'll often see a pair I really love, only to find out they are already out of stock and have every size except for what I'm looking for because I was too late. And I just end up often not ordering anything. I do have a nice pair I love though.

Your turn!
