I'm hoping someone could give me some advice on registering a death in England (we live in Scotland).

My aunt has passed away at home. She lived in Kent and has no children/partner there. All relatives live in Scotland and we'll be arranging the funeral.

I know that in Scotland, you receive a certificate from the coroner that you present to the registrar, but you can book with any registrar in Scotland, it doesn't have to be the one where the deceased lived/died.

I'm not familiar with the English system. Do we have to collect the coroners certificate ourselves and register the death at her local authority, or is it possible for the certificate to be sent to us and we register at any English authority (i.e. the closest to the border)?

Alternatively, who is allowed to collect the certificate and register her death as our proxy, given the circumstances?
