Received first misdemeanor citation for theft, probably under <$50. Recently received a letter inviting me for a diversion program by the county attorney. Program requires admit of guilt, fines, and etc.

Spoke to my lawyer and he advised to wait until arraignment.

If I go with the diversion program and complete it, the citation/ticket won’t be filed with court. In MN, I read that being admitted to the diversion program will also notify the BCA. Can someone specify/clarify what exactly this “admit of guilt” is in scenarios similar to this and what are the pros/cons of this program?
