I vaguely remember this one chess match that may have happened in a cartoon. I remember they specifically made fake chess piece hats so two their pieces were swapped and disguised as the other while doing legal moves that let them pretend they could be played as that specific piece. I don't remember which cartoon was that, but I do remember one of the pieces that were swapped was the queen.
