Hi everyone!

My group encountered a Deep One Elder today and triggered it's Mental Mirror ability. It was triggered(?) when our Bard cast Synesthesia and the monster rolled a success on it's save.

My thought was that since the spell did not fail to affect the monster, the mirror shouldn't trigger. After some discussion our table ended up treating it as though it had.

Does anyone have insight into how this should have been ruled?
