But when I checked the compactors I felt confused very quickly. Some machines looked modern and powerful but the sales talks sounded too perfect to fully believe. Some brands promised smart vibration systems and lower fuel use but the workers could not explain long term durability clearly. Some brochures had glowing reviews printed on them but honestly they felt more like advertisements than real operator experiences. One salesman keep saying this latest compactor model is the best seller everywhere but I still was not fully convinced. I could not trust them and I could not decide confidently.
Then I visited another supplier in the same area because I thought maybe I would hear more honest opinions there. This place had operators contractors and mechanics checking compactors outside the workshop. Some people praised Bomag compactors for smoother operation and fuel savings during road work. Some operators liked Caterpillar and Hamm models because they said the controls felt easier and the machines stayed stable on rough ground. Some reviews sounded positive at first but later I also heard complaints about expensive spare parts and electronic issues in newer compactors. I remembered hearing about a contractor who bought a new compactor too quickly without reading enough buyer feedback and later struggled with vibration and hydraulic problems. That memory stayed in my head while I kept looking around. One compactor almost looked perfect but another operator nearby warned me about high maintenance costs after long use. That made me hesitate even more.
