Hey all, im in the process of creating a new character and im heavily drawn to the Tsimisce Clan.
I have read the wiki and the Companions rule book (the one that added Ravnos, Tsimisce and Salubri clans). However i still need some help regarding the creation of the background of this new character.
- Why and whom would a Tsimisce sire embrace? For some clans this is clear, my first VtM character was a model embraced by a Toreador, they value beauty. Ventrue go for leadership type people, etc. etc.
The book and wiki straight up dont mention specific criteria for Tsimisce. I suppose that gives more freedom. I read some posts on here about why an Old Clan Sire would send a childer to the new world, the two most given reasons were "free territory to claim is in the NW" and "to seek something the old one in the old world wants". However i am interested in the "whom would a Tsimisce decideupon for the embrace".
- Second, how would a neonate tsimisce cope with the clan bane "need to own something they claim to be theirs, and need to sleep surrounded by it or else take willpower damage". The book gibes archetypes like landlord or gangleader, emphesizing that the claimed things can be metaphorical, but both these archetypes insinuate an already somewhat established character. You dont become gang leader or landlord over night (unless you were one already before the embrace). So how would a fledgling try to get started on something and deal with his clan bane?
- How does a Tsimisce fledgling end up joining a coterie? This question somewhat ties into the second. Most commonly, young vampires are "sent" to fulfill some tasks, by their sire or their organization if they have one. Thus most coteries are kindred that came together for a specific goal/purpose. This seems again difficult for a Tsimisce, as how i read it, "they hate to MOVE". It ties into their obsession of owning something, and that often ties them down. To join a coterie means it must be one that forms in their residence city, or if they get sent somewhere that necessitates that they are not tied down already by posessions. One thing that was mentioned is that often Tsimisce view their coterie as "theirs", but i think that means just "in addition" to their actual obsession.
The chronicle im gonna play in will be located in Miami, Florida.
