I'm trying to combine some laser animations in a timeline so I can create a new custom animation to cue in shows. I'd like to live select the color of the custom animation. However, I can only seem to get a fade in/out from my lasers in the "Quick Timeline" when I have the "Normal" color selected on my "Live Control" sliders. The program seemingly ignores any fade in/out commands when I try to select any other colors. Is there a way around this?

(I understand the "Effect" tab can change the "Normal" color settings. However, using this would mean lots of duplicate animations with different colors which is not practical)
