Disappointed by this province
I'm a born and raised Albertan and I feel so ashamed and disappointed to live in this province right now.
The court ruling today against the separatists party/petition gave me hope that maybe the law would prevail and maybe people out there actually cared about Alberta remaining in Canada (also, a HUGE shout-out to the Indigenous community who led this effort and fought so hard for our province!).
But then immediately afterwards, our premier made a public statement that this court ruling would be appealed. We're being ruled by the UCP separatist party who don't care about us, our province or Canada.
I feel vulnerable. I feel sad. I feel scared.
I honestly want to leave this province because it no longer represents what it used to be.
Is anyone else feeling this deflated?
Are there any pro-Canada riots being planned so I can feel like I'm doing something?
