Hi! 18F here and I just started weight lifting yesterday. I’ve been in calorie deficit and I’ve lost like .5 lbs this past week by just walking as my exercise. Yesterday I started going to the gym for the first time and I hit arms super hard. I’m super sore now lol. Anyways, I ate about 1900 calories (bc that’s my deficit) and the scale went up .4 lbs. I was wondering if this is normal to gain weight at first when you start lifting? If I stay consistent with the gym 3-4x a week and deficit, will my body adjust and will the scale go back down soon?
