Has there ever been a discussion about adding user-skill for catching the ball during punts and kickoffs?

Having every returner automatically catch the ball has become tiresome and unrealistic. Sometimes pressure builds and mistakes happen.

Another minor thing: even when the returner is running to the spot to catch the ball... They turn their back to the ball as if they magically know there the ball is going to lang. There's no tracking (looking up in the sky for the ball).
