Should I transfer from University of Sydney to Tetr College of Business?
Hey everyone,
I’m currently a second-semester student at the University of Sydney, and recently I got accepted into Tetr College of Business. Now I’m seriously considering whether I should transfer, but I’m really torn and wanted to get some outside opinions.
On one hand, USYD is a well-established, highly ranked university with solid employment outcomes. Staying here feels like the “safe” and logical choice, especially since it gives me a clearer path to getting a job after graduation.
On the other hand, Tetr is super new (founded in 2024), so there are no graduates yet. That makes it hard to judge things like job prospects, reputation, or how valuable the degree will actually be. Transferring would basically mean giving up my current degree for something much more uncertain.
That said… I’m honestly really excited by what Tetr is doing. The lifestyle, the global exposure, and the focus on building businesses instead of just studying. It all sounds amazing and aligns with what I want to do long term. It feels like a big opportunity, but also a big risk.
So yeah, I’m stuck between:
- Staying at USYD → stable, proven path
- Going to Tetr → risky, but potentially high upside and more aligned with my interests
If anyone has thoughts, especially on startup schools, unconventional education paths, or just taking big risks like this, I’d really appreciate hearing your perspective.
Thanks 🙏
