I recently booked a stay at in Orlando through a third-party site called hotely.travel. Initially, the hotel confirmed my reservation. A few days later, I called again and the hotel told me the reservation had been cancelled by the third party without my involvement.

I contacted hotely, and they told me everything was fine and the reservation was still confirmed. Shortly after that, I received a new confirmation number from Hilton.

I’m now trying to understand what actually happened, because I’ve gotten conflicting information from both sides. Hotely is saying it was just a “lookup confusion,” while the hotel originally showed a cancellation before reissuing a new booking.

Has anyone had experience with:

  • hotely.travel specifically, or similar lesser-known OTA sites
  • reservations being cancelled and then rebooked under new confirmation numbers
  • hotels saying a third party cancelled a booking without the customer being involved

I’m trying to figure out if this is normal OTA behavior or something I should still be concerned about as my reservation is a few days away and I dont want to show up and my reservation is 'cancelled.'
