A bit of research has shown me this is a fairly common issue. It appears the connection between the cover and the board was not tight, causing it to heat up to the point of failure? Can this drive unit be repaired? The board seems to be glued to the heat sink after removing all the mounting screws. I’m capable with a soldering iron if anyone has some advice.
