We recently had an issue in our house where the shower pressure suddenly dropped a lot compared to the rest of the fixtures. The sinks in the same bathroom were still running normally, but the shower felt like it barely had any flow.
first I thought it might just be a clogged shower head, so I removed it and cleaned it out, but the pressure didn’t improve much. A plumber eventually checked it out and found that sediment had built up inside the shower mixing valve, partially blocking the water flow. Apparently this can happen over time, especially if there’s debris in the water lines or after plumbing work has been done somewhere in the system. They flushed the valve and cleaned it out, and the pressure came back to normal.I didn’t realize that something inside the valve could restrict water flow like that without affecting the other fixtures in the bathroom.Has anyone else run into something similar with shower pressure dropping suddenly?
