44 y.o. woman whose father had a heart attack and CABG in 2019 - lifetime history of high cholesterol despite being vegetarian and extremely active - daily cardio, personal trainer etc. for a time. I do not watch my diet that much but am an active, generally healthy person with low body fat etc..
My lipid panel bloodwork:
- Triglycerides 143
- Cholesterol 271
- HDL 94 (has always been very high)
- LDL 150
- Non-HDL 177
- Lioprotien - 13mg/dL
- I had a calcium score performed when I turned 40, which was a result of zero (0)
Because of the lipoprotein score, my Dr. will NOT prescribe a statin. But I am anxious because of the familial history and my father having a heart attack at 65 and triple bypass. Would love experience / thoughts as I wonder if I should seek another medical opinion and advocate more strongly for a statin.
