Best language learning apps for french baby beginners?

I am male (Teen) and I want to learn French so I can speak to my friend female (Teen) in French.

My biggest hold back is knowing where to start. I want to be able to have basic conversations with her. I think she is taking French classes in school where as I am homeschooled so I dont have that option...

Anyways I want to reach b1 level within like a year and a half.

I got a book for Christmas for french learning Learn French Fast for Adult Beginners: 8-in-1 Workbook on Amazon. I tried it but it felt almost as if I were to know basic French already and were doing lessons while doing the book. (TL:DR) it doesnt help me that much rn

I have thought of using duolingo however all I have really heard about duo and learning languages is that it lwk is buns and should be supplemented with other classes/programs.

I have a skillshare membership and tried searching guides for French. But I dont really wanna sit for 24 hrs through 145 episodes to just be A1 THATS A LOT OF TIME for my adhd ahh to keep attention to and actually understand.

I dont know if this post is like stupid or something and this has already been answered so many times before. So if there are any websites, apps, etc. Please lmk! Or maybe I should just stick with skillshare.

Thanks for reading have a blessed day ❤️

Edit: She is taking french classes more seriously then just "another class" like she genuinly wants to learn. Just to clarify
