Hi all,

Hope you’re having a good week.

I’m currently trying to decide between doing the SQE 1 & 2 LLM full time course at either BPP or the University of Law in London, and I’d really appreciate any recent insights/advice from people who’ve attended either.

I’ve gone through quite a few older threads already, and the general impression I seem to be getting is:

  1. BPP appears to have quite a few admin-related issues, but people generally rate the teaching/materials quite well.

2.ULaw seems to be more expensive but to have better admin/support systems overall.

However, there doesn’t actually seem to be a huge difference between BPP and ULaw in terms of teaching quality/preparation for the SQE itself.

I’m also in a slightly unique situation career/visa-wise, so I’m trying to plan carefully. I’ve been on a Graduate Visa and have spent the past year as an intern, and for the last 6 months I’ve been working as a paralegal with the same US law firm.

They’ve recently offered to extend my contract until November (which is right before my visa expires), and they are currently looking into sponsorship options to potentially keep me on afterwards. There’s no confirmation on the sponsorship option yet though, so I want to make sure I have backup options in place in case I need to switch onto a student visa and continue SQE prep while working towards securing a TC.

Given that context, would you recommend BPP or ULaw? Particularly in terms of:
Teaching quality/support
Flexibility alongside work
Admin/student experience
Employability/networking
Overall preparation for passing the SQE

Any advice or personal experiences would be massively appreciated. Thanks so much!
