Last week I saw off a big half dead branch in my yard that had half fallen during the winter. I've debarked it last night and I was presented with a Crack stick. I didn't know it was still that wet.

So both side aren't shape the same way so I'll just copie the patterns for both sides to fit. I'm scared to cut the it and release it from the body. I've made as much marking to remember where everything goes.
