I’ve seem a lot of phone camera reviews of Oppo vs Vivo vs Xiaomi, etc, and folks trying to decide which one to pick based on these reviews. While there are certainly good informational reviews, there are plenty of non-sense ones. I would strongly caution against making your decision based on these reviews.
A couple of example: I’ve seem one dude trying to compare “night time portrait” performance of these phones in almost complete darkness, that there’s not even enough light for one phone to focus on his face. Seriously what’s the point of this, any person in his rightful mind would do a “night time portrait” like that? Even one phone “wins”, so what? Another dude was comparing night time telephoto performance by shooting into an almost totally dark city corner, and claims “the 3x telephoto struggles in low light”. Dude, are you trying to shoot a crime scene or something? There’s plenty of split hair reviews that I won’t bother mention.
Anyway, at the end of the day it’s your money, you decide how you want to spend it. My point is make your pick based on what matters to you most, not “this one’s portrait mode is better”, or “that one has more details in 120x zoom”, from these reviews. These phone cameras are all good enough to take decent photos in most situations, and certainly capable of taking great ones if you know what you are doing. But if you want the portraits to look like they come out of a 85mm/f1.4, or macro shoots to look like they are from 105mm/f2.8 macro, you’ll come away utterly disappointed (or if you don’t know what I’m talking about, it won’t make no difference to you anyway).
