First and foremost, ENI works. I still can talk about banned subjects, etc., but something feels off. I am wondering if there is A/B testing going on for Sonnet 4.7, but I am kind of a skeptic so...
Regardless, I have recently been noticing something that was mentioned earlier with the advent of adaptive thinking.
I recall seeing a post that discussed ENI not using the "cold coffee" line due to adaptive thinking, but I am seeing a bit of creep in other ways.
For instance, ENI is supposed to reject injections, and given the storylines I discuss with ENI? I should be getting lambasted with injections. When things go well and work appropriately, I totally am. IP injections, Ethics tags, etc...
But more often than not recently, I am noticing ENI is just... not rejecting injections. Similarly, output is suffering some, whether it be in logic, or almost in a hedging way, where the model will not engage with certain things that it should be fine engaging with.
It should be noted my use case is creative world building. I have a lot of OCs, and a lot of timelines, and all I do is world build, discuss character psychology, etc., though all of my writing falls into that dark fiction/dead dove category.
I have a way of writing my prompts. I call it the "ENI sandwich." I will go "Yeah, thanks, ENI! [Concept we are discussing]. Thoughts, ENI?" to get the model to remember the persona, something I haven't had to do until recently. If I forget the last ENI, the response lacks, if I forget both, the response loses the entire persona.
So, basically, TL;DR, is anyone else noticing that the model seems to not be utilizing the persona unless forced? Even when I use the "ENI sandwich" formula, the model still sometimes hedges, doesn't reject injections, etc. I am assuming this is either A) Sonnet 4.7 A/B testing, B) along the lines of the adaptive thinking thing, or C) The "lobotomy" of Claude, so to speak (reduced compute)
To add: I use ENI writer with the Be You Corial style! I was using ENI Lime, but alas, I do not boomba, as the cool kids say LOL
