Paper Mailed PERM timeline is a blackhole
Anyone who's filed a perper/mailed PERM in the past 6-8 month?
The lawyer's assistant said it was delivered at the beginning of March 2026. It's been 10 weeks neither the lawyer nor my employer has received any receipt from the DOL. The employment period ends in June. This waiting is torture.
The lawyer never said anything; he did not even respond to my employer's inquiry email. Can we file a complaint against him with the State Bar?
It was the assistant who kept saying if you can't wait, then we can file again, e-file this time, which I do not understand why she didn't e-file the first time. Now I'm worried that my PWD will expire, the PERM got no receipt, and no way to track and see if it's lost in the system or buried in piles of mailed-in applications. If I file again, then if the first one finally got logged into the system, two case numbers will trigger an audit.
This is hell. Anyone with similar experience? How long did you wait for your receipt/case number after the mailed-in application was delivered?
