We just released an app to help parents easily share updates with family. Every time you upload a photo, family members that you have invited instantly see their widget update on their home screen. Especially great for non tech-savvy family members, as they don't even need to open an app to see updates.
My wife and I built Pretzel with privacy and security as top-priority. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, and family members need a two-way handshake to get connected and see photos. But we also didn't want to compromise on simplicity and ease-of-use, so the app is super simple to use for everyone.
