I’m a software developer and have spent a good amount of time working on fintech products. After trying a few Pakistani expense-tracking apps, I kept running into the same issues missing basics, too many bugs, and features that don’t work the way you’d expect. At some point it just felt easier to try building something better myself.

I’m currently working on a personal expense-tracking app built specifically for Pakistan, and before going too far, I wanted to get feedback from people who would actually use it.

A lot of existing apps don’t really reflect how we manage money here heavy cash usage, lending money to friends or family, privacy concerns, and apps that are more complicated than they need to be. The idea is to keep things simple, offline-first, and fully under the user’s control.

One feature I really wanted to support is automatic bank transaction syncing, but that’s not realistically possible right now. Pakistan doesn’t have open-banking platforms like Plaid or Bud, so for now the app will rely on manual tracking or light automation instead.

**What I’m planning to include:**

•	Works offline by default (no signup needed)

•	Cash-on-hand tracking

•	Manual bank and credit card accounts

•	Loan and EMI tracking

•	Friends/family ledger (who you owe, who owes you)

•	Income, expenses, and internal transfers

•	Recurring expenses (rent, bills, subscriptions)

•	Alerts for low balance, EMIs, and budgets

•	Simple graphs and monthly reports

•	All calculations done directly on your phone

Your data stays with you it’s not sent to a server by default.

**Pricing (still figuring this out)**

I want to keep it affordable and fair:

•	Free for basic usage

•	Optional premium for advanced features

•	Rough idea: PKR 150–300 per month or around PKR 2,000 per year

Does that sound reasonable?

Would really appreciate your input:

•	What feature do you feel is missing in current expense apps?

•	What should be avoided to keep the app simple?

•	What pricing feels fair in Pakistan?

Honest feedback would help a lot 🙏
