Hey y’all,

I am considering TMS therapy as I have pretty severe Health OCD with some lingering depression and pretty high anxiety. Any recommendations or thoughts of this would be a good ave to go? I got pretty good coverage with my insurance with a 15 dollar co pay per session. Is this something that can last a lifetime if it works or is it just a minimal period of time?

Hey y’all-I have read many comments on colonoscopies through Reddit and unfortunately Google. I wanted to share my experience and hope it helps others.

I am 44 years old in very good shape. I Workout 5-6 days a week and eat pretty healthy. I have a history of fissures and internal hemorrhoids(which has caused rectal bleeding at times). Also, have very bad health OCD. So I have always been in constant fear of my first colonoscopy including getting put under deep sedation.

One thing I would recommend to get if you can afford it is a CT abdominal and pelvis with contrast exam. I got that in February and it was totally clear for any abnormalities in any of my internal organs including Gastrointestinal tract. This at least told me that I have nothing significant going on but of course my minds runs to always a chance of something maybe smaller going they will find. I also had a flex sigmoidoscopy that I advocated for in 2022 and a fit test in July 2024 all being negative. Always good to start checking things early on especially if you’re having any issues.

The prep for me was fine. I ate pretty low fiber diet decent up to the day of prep and I thought the taste was fine with Gatorade mix. The magnesium stuff was definitely a little nastier but nothing I couldn’t handle but it really sucks when you’re starving for food.

My initial plan was to request mild to moderate sedation but anesthesiologist convinced me to try going into deep sedation since propofol is well tolerated. History wise when I was younger I vomited after surgery so I have always been nervous plus I like to know what’s going on.

I did agree to going fully under and let me tell you it was amazing. Definitely one of the best naps I have had and was well needed. I woke up and the doctor told me there was no polyps found and only found three internal hemorrhoids. Felt a little

Drowsy but no nausea. She said come back in 10 years and I said I will see you in 5 years haha. Then I went and ate some pancakes.

Hope this helps people with their worries or concerns. I am happy I got it done and I am truly thankful to god the results were good.
