Hey

So I know a PIP is usually a precursor to termination. I know there's a chance they might fire me. But I don't know if that's the case because it's really company to company, so it's touch and go.

I'm new, started in November. Had my probation kicked down the road with all other November starts in February, with no notice.

I had my performance review today and my manager basically said, I did well, I'm settling in well and I've been improving. But there are some areas I could improve in, and they set up a plan that should help me stay on track.

I work in ISB, and basically, the pip is summed up as this:

- Be more proactive in Bakery - order stock from ops before it runs out

- Maintain pace - Walk through the customer journey to identify gaps before they form and ask for stock ahead of time, while cleaning up around bakery

The pip is open for 2 weeks, ending on May 14th. My manager and I will discuss improvements on that day.

The only thing put in the support box was that my manager will support by checking in with me each shift.

Honestly, I don't know how to feel? I've never gotten a PIP before, so I don't know what's to come. What should I do?

Hey,

Context:

So I'm a market research and strategy consultant.

I worked as an intern for an idea stage startup looking towards product launch and realized, if I wasn't here, the founder would have no time to learn these things.

He woke up at 6:30 and often had travel plans to other places to network, meet others, etc. I was the one who shouldered his ideas, researched them, and told him what I found and what it meant.

Prior I was an academic research assistant, assisted in a book project with a professor, and got 2 masters in my field.

Where I'm at now:

I originally had a product offering as just a in-depth research report. But after looking at people's experiences, I realized, it's close. It needs fine tuning though. The market is definitely there, nobody is coming though.

My problem is I suck at personal branding and marketing. I NEED to get better because this is my pathway for my long term future. But I'm stuck and don't know what to do.

I've been posting on LinkedIn, got a good bit of impressions and engagement over 3 months. But besides that, nothing else.

I'm wondering if anyone could help me with this issue or has any resources that could? Or just similar experiences
