I am looking to install some extra storage on my mini cooper one (3 door, no roof rails) as I’m emigrating to Spain from UK.
I’ve seen there are a few different options: Thule bars, menabo bars and Seasucker monkey bars.
I wanted to hear your thoughts on the pros/cons of them if you have them installed?
I’ve seen some videos of the Thule bars being installed that cut into the rubber trim around the door frame - does this create damp/water problems when you remove the bars?
Note that I don’t want permanent fixtures as this is just for the trip - we’re getting the ferry to Spain, so it will be a 9hr drive from Santander to South of Spain (split int two days). Also not planning on having super heavy cargo either, just need some extra space for some essentials like my clothes and dog bedding etc.
