37 weeks apnea/desats

My baby girl has been in the nicu for 6 days now. She will be 38 weeks tomorrow. She has been having occasional desats maybe 1-2 times a day since she was born. They happen mostly when she is sleeping sometimes she needs oxygen other times just a little stimulation to come out of it. Just wondering if anyone else went thru something similar at this gestation age and when did it stop. She is back to her birth weight and feeding well. I know she is there for a good reason and cannot come home until she’s had 5 days of no desats but it is so depressing when most babies her age are completely fine. The doctors keep reassuring me nothing else is going on and they just think she is acting prematurely but I can’t help but worry.

37 week desats

My baby girl was delivered exactly at 37 weeks I had to be induced for hypertension. She came out having some troubles breathing and was taken away from me. She had a punctured lung referred to as pneumothorax. They told me it’s very common and she was evaluated in the nicu for 6 hours then sent back to me the same day. She desat 2 times that day and they decided to bring her back to the nicu and keep her. The rule is 5 days with no desats until she can come home. They told me they believe the desats are not happening from the pneumothorax and that she is just acting prematurely. She has been in the nicu for 5 days now and has had 1-2 desats per day so far. Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar at this gestation age and what was the outcome?
