I recently graduated with a degree in Languages and Literature, but I’m interested in pursuing a Master’s in International Relations.

Would changing fields like this hurt my chances for admission?

In my undergraduate thesis, I already made a small connection to this area by researching a topic that involved both politics and languages. I also completed a technologist degree in International Trade, which I feel gave me some additional background related to economics, trade, and global issues.

Does this transition sound plausible for graduate admissions?

My main academic interest is East Asian Studies, especially topics related to politics, culture, and international relations in East Asia.
