ENG Students: Help! Circuits as a premed BME

Hey fellow ENG students,

I have to take Circuits (ENG EK 307) in the fall this year and I'm looking at the RateMyProfessor pages for all of the options and it's not looking good. Since I'm pre-med, I'm not really trying to risk my GPA, is this a class that's possible to get an A in if you have Milos Popovic, Tianyu Wang, or Unlu? Is it really that bad, or are people just complaining and being dramatic? Are exams a major portion of the syllabus, or is a lot of it homework/labs?

Lmk if you think I should just wait until the spring to take this class...I had a pretty bad spring semester so I don't really think it's worth it for me to sacrifice my GPA at the cost of taking circuits (and probably not even learning the material, given none of these profs has a rating above 2.5 lol).

TLDR: Circuits professors for the fall are looking abysmal am I cooked? (Pre-med, need a good GPA).

Hi everyone, I’m a Boston-area student planning to take a summer course at WPI. I’m deciding between ES 2501 (Statics) with Zhikun Hou and ECE 2019 (Sensors, Circuits, and Systems) with Greg Noetscher. I’m looking for some honest feedback on the feasibility of these, specifically: ES 2501 (Statics) with Zhikun Hou: I’ve seen some rough reviews for Hou. Given the condensed summer pace, is his teaching style/grading manageable, or is it a "avoid at all costs" situation for a 5-week term?

ECE 2019 (Sensors) with Greg Noetscher: Here’s the catch, I haven't taken Physics 2 (PH 1120/1121) or the intro ECE 2010 course. I’d be going in with zero "formal" circuit background. Is Noetscher’s version of 2019 accessible if I’m willing to self-study, or am I setting myself up for a disaster by skipping the prerequisites in a fast-paced summer format?

Has anyone taken these specific profs or attempted ECE 2019 without the pre-reqs? I don't want to get in over my head if the learning curve is too steep for a month of work.

Thanks!
