FIFA Is Cheating — Tons of Category 1 Tickets Haven’t Been Released

I went to five Club World Cup games last year in Philadelphia and New Jersey. For most of the matches, only about a quarter of the stadium was actually filled. FIFA closed off large sections of the stadium and moved fans to the side facing the cameras so the crowd looked better on TV.

Now, let’s talk about this World Cup. I’m familiar with MetLife Stadium, and the main camera angle will likely placed on sections 233 to 244. That means FIFA would ideally want to sell tickets on the other side before opening those sections.

However, for many of the group-stage games at MetLife, there are still no tickets available in sections 233 to 244, which are Category 1 seats. I checked StubHub and the FIFA Marketplace, and there isn’t a single ticket listed in those sections.

It only means one thing: tickets from sections 233 to 244 are not released.

My conclusion is that FIFA is holding back a large number of tickets to create artificial scarcity. Once the World Cup starts, I think a lot more tickets for the group-stage games will suddenly become available.

At the same time, most — if not all — Category 2 to 4 tickets appear to be sold out.

I could be wrong, though. If anyone already has tickets in sections 233 to 244, feel free to prove me wrong.
