The Problem:

I have been dealing with a super frustrating, localized breakout strictly on my left cheek since November. The right side of my face and everywhere else is completely clear.

They always start as small, rigid, skin-coloured bumps (closed comedones). If I leave them alone, they just sit there. But when I get up close to the bathroom mirror and start fiddling with or squeezing them, they instantly get inflamed and turn into angry red pimples with whiteheads.

What I've Ruled Out:

It’s not environmental. I've already changed the side I sleep on, and I never hold my phone against that cheek.

What I've Tried:

I've been using Adapalene full-face since 2023. My skin handles it perfectly with zero peeling or stinging, but it isn't clearing these specific bumps. I also recently tried the Minimalist AHA/PHA/BHA peeling solution (left on for 8 mins, then washed off) and have tried Benzoyl Peroxide as a spot treatment, but the bumps are still there.

My Current Routine:

Day 1:

  • AM: Cleanser ➔ VitC Serum ➔ moisturizer ➔ Sunscreen
  • PM: Micellar Water ➔ Cleanser ➔ Snail Mucin ➔ adalpelene (full face) ➔ moisturizer

Day 2 :

  • AM:  Cleanser ➔ hydrating toner ➔ moisturizer ➔ Sunscreen
  • PM: Micellar Water ➔ Cleanser ➔ hydrating Toner ➔ PDRN Cream ➔ moisturizer
