Why do some people say it as though Jotaro was wasting his time being in Part 4?
So I've seen some people say that Jotaro was hanging around with these high school students while Polnareff was suffering in Italy, or that he should've focused on raising his daughter, and I just want to say I don't agree with this.
To begin with, he's a crucial character in Part 4. He serves as a mentor to Josuke and everyone would've died if he weren't there. I also think he suffered a lot as much as Polnareff did, like during the Sheer Heart Attack fight. He was just lucky to have Josuke with him.
Also, he learns more about the arrow through Part 4, like how it can be used to awaken stands, and he ultimately uses this knowledge to give Jolyne her stand, allowing her to protect herself.
Finally, the reason why he was away from his family was made clear in Part 6. He wanted to protect them. He is a target for Dio's followers, and Stand users attract each other. Jolyne also ultimately understands this, and they reconcile with each other.
He's my favorite character, so I just wanted to rant and share my opinion.
